The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has concluded its four-year workforce development program, in which it has invested $7.3 million since 2019, as a part of its Community Support Project (CSP).

The program has developed and accredited five technical and vocational education and training (TVET) curricula in three sectors, including home-based healthcare, industrial repair and maintenance, and information and communication technology. The courses are now available at 13 TVET institutes.

The project has supported 1,052 jobseekers through scholarships that included full tuition coverage, health insurance, monthly stipend for transportation, and a computer or tablet to facilitate the learning process.

USAID had also partnered with 48 private sector businesses to expedite beneficiaries’ access to employment, providing 745 internship placements and full-time employment for 153 graduates.

CSP is a $100 million program funded by USAID that started in 2018 and is set to conclude in 2025. It is implemented by Chemonics International and aims to improve economic opportunities and the delivery of essential services in the North, South, and Bekaa Valley.
