MoSA launches the National
Disability Allowance program
Funded by the EU with €20 million
to benefit 20,000 people with disabilities
Share
The Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA) has launched the National Disability Allowance program (NDA) in partnership with the European Union (EU), UNICEF, and the International Labour Organization (ILO).
NDA is funded by the EU with a budget of €20 million. Under the NDA program, a monthly cash assistance of $40 will be provided to each person with disability that will be paid via the money transfer company OMT.
The assistance will be provided for a period of 12 months that could be extended upon the availability of funding.
The program prioritizes people with disabilities aged between 18 and 28. It supports them in their transition to higher education or in joining the labor market. NDA targets up to 20,000 beneficiaries holding the Personal Disability Card issued by MOSA’s Rights and Access program.
UNICEF is managing a call center dedicated to the NDA program, to answer queries and resolve complaints from beneficiaries. It can be reached through 04 727 470, Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
People who are eligible to hold the Personal Disability Card are the ones who have physical, auditory, visual, or mental disability.
